Acupuncture and Moxibustion: There is no separation between acupuncture and moxibustion in China. Most of our patients understand acupuncture, the method of inserting very thin needles into the acupuncture holes to balance meridians and achieve ultimate health of body and mind. Moxibustion is the burning of the leaves of Artemisia Vulgaris on the needle or close to the skin. It can warm meridians and expel cold, induce the smooth flow of qi and blood, prevent diseases and maintain health. We also combine cupping, Gua Sha, and dermal needle therapy to achieve optimum results.

Chinese Herb Medicine

We have received a lot of calls recently about Corydalis.  We DO NOT sell herbs to consumers without a prescription from a certified Chinese Herbal Practitioner.  If  someone doesn’t  apply Chinese Herbal Medicine’s principles when using plants or other products from mother nature, I consider they are NOT USING CHINESE MEDICINE, they are using  PLANT MEDICINE. For example, Corydalis has the function of pain reduction, but we don’t use it alone as a single plant! Just because plants come from mother nature does not mean they do not have poison.

Corydalis (Corydalis, Xuan Hu Suo) side effects – Corydalis contains a variety of alkaloids, mainly isoquinoline derivatives. Side effects include excessive paralysis after spinal nerve poisoning and limb muscles, inhibiting central nervous system, causing vascular paralysis, respiratory depression and cardiac dysfunction.

(2) toxic reactions: dizziness, pallor, weak heartbeat, weak pulse, drowsiness, weakness, difficulty breathing, convulsions, drop in blood pressure; severe cases can cause shock, convulsions, respiratory center depression, Parkinson syndrome.   3/20/2014
